The annual “Azalea Yuyama” will be held from April 22 to May 7 at Sorakuen Garden in Kobe City. 4,000 azaleas will be in bloom from late April to early May, adding vivid colors to the garden. Visitors will be able to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the garden while admiring the beautiful azaleas in bloom.
This event is held every year when about 4,000 azaleas are in full bloom. During the event, Japanese sweets will be sold, jazz concerts will be held (April 29), live cover performances of old favorites (May 5), tea ceremonies will be held (April 22 and May 7), and a guided tour by the park manager (April 30) will be offered.
On April 29 and 30, the interior of the “Former Hassam Residence,” an important cultural property with a blend of Japanese and Western architecture, will be open to the public, and on April 29 and 30, the “boathouse,” an important cultural property in which only the roof of the “Kawagozabune,” a boat used for river cruises by the feudal lord of Himeji in the Edo period, was raised on land, will be open to the public for explanations and exterior views. The park is also open to the public.
The park is a sightseeing spot known as the only Japanese garden in Kobe City’s urban parks. Visitors will be able to enjoy various events and appreciate the vivid azaleas that shine against the fresh greenery.
<A word from the reporter:
The gorgeous azaleas in the calm Japanese atmosphere are sure to be a good photo-op.
I would definitely like to visit in the warm and pleasant weather.
