Kobe City has established “Kobekko Asobi Hiroba” with large playground equipment as an indoor playground where pre-elementary school children and their guardians can gather with their parents and children to support child-raising and promote mutual exchange.
Following Okaba in the northern part of the city and Rokko Island in the eastern part, Kobekko Asobi Hiroba Seishin-Chuo will be the third playground in the city to open for use.
Next to the Kobekko Asobi Hiroba, “Youth Station Nishi,” a place for junior high and high school students, which used to be located in the lobby of the Nishi Ward Cultural Center, will also be opened.
About “Kobekko Asobi Hiroba Seishin-Chuo
Location: Nishi-ku Cultural Center 1F, 5-6-1 Kouji-dai, Nishi-ku, Kobe (approx. 400 m2)
Opening hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (each session lasts 60 minutes with changeover)
Closed: Every Thursday and year-end and New Year holidays
Target: Children aged 0 to 6 (before elementary school age) and their parents
Special features: Inside the plaza The plaza has a large symbolic tree and wood-grained playground equipment, creating a space where visitors can enjoy themselves as if they were playing in nature even though they are indoors. There is also a space for children to play with large equipment and babies in a safe and comfortable environment.
Fee : Free of charge

Opening hours : [Weekdays] 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., [Saturdays] 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.,
[Sundays and holidays] 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Closed : 3rd Mondays, New Year holidays
Target : Junior high and high school students
Features : Providing a free space for self-study and chatting, and organizing events
Renewal opening: Tuesday, May 16, 2023, 1:00 p.m.
