Siohigari 2023″ at Suma Beach (Suma-ku, Kobe) will start on April 22 and last until June 4, but will be closed from May 9 to 11.
The annual spring event, “Siohigari 2023,” is held at the south exit of JR Suma Station, where the shallow Suma beach can be reached in about 30 seconds. The fee includes a souvenir of 700 grams of clams for adults and 300 grams for children in addition to the facility use fee, and if shellfish poisoning occurs in Osaka Bay, the clams will be exchanged for tested clams, so you can enjoy the event with peace of mind.
An opening event will be held on April 22, the first day of the event. Other events planned during the period include a “treasure hunt” to find gold and silver clams hidden on the beach, a “touch pool” where visitors can interact with fish, and water gun fights. <A word from the reporter:
One parasol per couple is available for rent, so it is nice to be able to take a break without worrying about the sun. During this season, it gets cold after getting out of the water, so if you are taking children who want to play in the water, I personally recommend that you bring a haori (a coat) and a change of clothes to keep warm.
