On May 28, “Children’s Book Forest Kobe” in Chuo-ku, Kobe City, will hold an event called “Ichinichi Tours Day”.
Visitors can tour the library without reservations!
The event will be held in conjunction with the Kobe Festival, which will be held for the first time in four years on Flower Road, which runs right next to the facility. Normally, admission to the facility on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays is by appointment only, but on this day, anyone can enter the museum without an advance reservation. Visitors can tour the beautiful museum designed by architect Tadao Ando (reading is not permitted).
Rare paintings brought back from the Philippines are on display.
The museum is also holding an exhibition of large paintings brought back from the Philippines by Hiroko Takahama, a painter who stayed in a mountainous area in the Philippines and engaged in art activities with local children as part of an environmental education program, titled “Folktales and Children’s Paintings of the Kankanai Tribe in the Philippines Brought Back by Hiroko Takahama, a Painter. The exhibition is currently being held.
Enjoy the unique architecture
The person in charge of the museum says, “We hope that you will visit the museum to see what kind of books are available, learn what kind of building it is, and feel that you would like to come back to read again. <A word from the reporter>
There are probably many people who would like to see the building but have yet to visit it. I am one of them, so I will definitely go and take a tour.
