Kobe City: Determination of Candidates for the Kobe Port Cruise Ship Activation Project

After inviting proposals for the “Kobe Port Cruise Ship Revitalization Project,” we received proposals from five companies, and after reviewing the proposals, we have selected candidates for the project.

Purpose of the project

The sightseeing boats are an important tourist attraction at the Port of Kobe, but the number of passengers has been declining in recent years, and furthermore, due to the impact of the new coronavirus infection, has temporarily dropped to less than 30% of the pre-coronavirus level (2019). Although currently on a recovery trend, the situation surrounding the operation of pleasure boats still remains difficult due to the effects of high prices, including soaring fuel costs, and a decrease in group tourists.
This work is intended to further revitalize the contents of sightseeing boats with a view to post-Corona society, and to stimulate tourism demand and promote the Port of Kobe.
