On June 18, “Goats and Small Animals Festival” will be held at Rokko Island Park in Higashinada Ward, Kobe. Admission is free.
In recent years, goats, which are herbivorous animals, have been attracting attention as an environmentally friendly weeding method, as they eat weeds. The event was planned to allow visitors to get in touch with these goats, and “Hana-chan,” a Tokara goat bred by the Kobe College of Zoo Animals and Plants, will be at the venue. Hana-chan, a Tokara goat bred by the Kobe College of Animal and Plant Life, will be on hand to weed the park with local residents.
In addition, students from the school’s goat club will put on a performance show, where visitors can learn about goat ecology and other topics while having fun. A mini zoo will be set up at the venue, where visitors can see small animals and reptiles, and also participate in a puzzle solving rally where they can collect stamps and receive original goods.
