March 2023, the City of Kobe and OS Corporation concluded a partnership agreement for the purpose of working together to combat abandoned bamboo groves, develop an exchange square, and promote the attractiveness of the Tairihata Nishi district
.
Based on this agreement, a consortium formed by the company began a demonstration experiment in organic vegetable cultivation in an exchange square that had been abandoned, and harvested about 20 kg of potatoes with the cooperation of students from nearby Kobe Women’s University.
The harvested potatoes will be offered to Kotonoha, an old private house in Suma Ward, which is engaged in creating a children’s cafeteria and a place for children to stay, as a way of giving back to the local community.
In cooperation with OS Corporation, the city will continue to engage in various activities that contribute to the preservation and utilization of satoyama in the area.

The food will be served to children for lunch during a summer vacation free study workshop scheduled to be held on Monday, July 31.

・ About Tajihata West District
In
July 2020, Kobe City will take over land (approx. 29 ha) in the district from the Urban Renaissance Agency in order to curb uncontrolled development and preserve satoyama and farmland in the district, which is located near the city center and is rich in nature, and will work with local residents to create a green urban environment. We are working together with local residents to create an urban environment rich in greenery.
