Motomachi Cinema “New Generation Hong Kong Cinema Special 2023” in Chuo Ward, Kobe City

Motomachi Cinema (Chuo-ku, Kobe) will hold “New Generation Hong Kong Cinema Feature 2023” from July 29 to August 11.

Hong Kong has produced a wide variety of films for film fans. The Chinese government’s response to the pro-democracy movement has raised concerns about its future, but even amidst this uncertainty, there are an increasing number of masterpieces that reflect the times from a different angle.

This year’s New Generation Hong Kong Film Festival will also feature daily screenings of two films that have been ranked among Hong Kong’s top 10 films of the year in terms of box office success: My Prince Edward, the feature debut of Norris Wong, one of the hottest new directors in Hong Kong today, and a story about a “fake marriage” of an Alaska woman. The film is based on the story of an Alaskan Hong Kong woman’s “fake marriage”.
