TOMARIGI MARKET, a marche event organized by “KOBE Tomarigi,” an organization that conducts community revitalization and social contribution activities in Nada-ku, Kobe, will be held on October 21 and 22. Admission is free.
As many as 50 stores, including restaurants, sweets, handmade goods, workshops, etc., will gather at the venue on both days. The lineup includes game booths for children to participate in and gourmet food for adults to enjoy.
There are also projects in collaboration with local students. The theme of the product development project by high school students, held for the second time this year, is “Reprinting Showa School Lunch! School Lunch in the Showa Era”.
High school students from 2021 will sell pudding made with nonfat milk powder, frozen jelly, and other products reminiscent of Showa-era school lunches, with some alterations made under the supervision of “Kobe Franz”.
The fashion show by “Kobe Shoin Women’s College” on the 21st is also a must-see. Students from the school’s Fashion and Housing Design Department will put on a show featuring costumes made of Kobe tartan, the symbol of Kobe, and the school’s original Kobe Shoin tartan, with everything from design to production handled by the students.
The students designed and staged the entire show, and there will also be original goods made from the school’s original tartan fabric and sold by the artists, items that are only available here.
<A word from the reporter:
The number of visitors to this marché has been increasing each time it is held, so we have high expectations for this year’s event as well! I think the nonfat milk powder pudding will be fun for all generations to gather around.
