A taiko workshop for elementary and junior high school students will be held by the Meriken Wharf Drums, a young unit of teenagers and young adults based at the Fish Dance Music Practice Center in Kobe Meriken Park, Motomachi!
The main purpose of the workshop is to give students a taste of taiko, so even first-time drummers will be able to enjoy the workshop.
Come and experience the sound of taiko, a traditional Japanese musical instrument, live while playing simple rhythms!
Lastly, there will be a fun mini live performance by the Meriken Wharf Drums? Please come and enjoy~!
1. Outline
The Meriken Wharf Drums will perform “Dawn, Atsumare! Tatte-mi-Taiko!
Target: 1st grade elementary school students to 3rd grade junior high school students (maximum 20 students per session)
Participation fee: Free
What to bring: Wear comfortable clothes for exercise, bachi (rental available)
