Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland (Chuo-ku, Kobe) will hold its 23rd “Wine Talk & Dinner with Shinya Tasaki” on December 1 to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Reservations can be applied for via the website, and will be accepted until November 27 (first-come, first-served).
The event, which opened in 2008 and was first held in March 2009, has been held every year with the exception of the Corona Disaster. This year’s event, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the opening, will focus on “Awaji Island 3-year torafugu (blowfish)” and “Kaju crab” as well as deer meat from “Tajima’s gibier, Coco deer” as gibier produced in Hyogo Prefecture.
Tajima no Jibier Coco-shika, which captures, dismantles, and sells wild deer in Asago City, Hyogo Prefecture, follows a strict procedure for dismantling and processing deer meat, which includes quickly draining the blood after capture, pre-treatment within an hour, and letting the meat mature in the refrigerator for several days to ensure excellent meat quality.
The French cuisine, prepared by Executive Chef Keisuke Oyama and using the flavors of Hyogo in abundance, will be paired with wines by Shinya Tasaki, who is renowned as the world’s best sommelier and is the president of the Japan Sommelier Association.
In addition to wine, Nishiyama Sake Brewery, known as the brewer of “Kozutsumi,” will be preparing a special sake called “Shinraku,” a fantastic sake of which only 10% is made from a single tank of sake. Expectations are high for a gourmet experience to savor the winter of Hyogo with wine and sake.
The event will be held in a private banquet room on the 3rd floor of the hotel, with a maximum capacity of 60 people and a fee of 40,000 yen (including tax and service charge). For details, please visit the official website.
