Various events including illumination will be held at Kobe City Suma Rikyu Park (Suma Ward, Kobe City) from mid-November to early December, when the autumn leaves are at their best.
In the park, approximately 600 maple trees, mainly Iroha maples, will change color during this period, including a 150-meter-long maple tree path that will become a tunnel of autumn leaves.
In addition to the nighttime opening and lighting of the park on weekends and holidays from November 11 to December 10, the “Momiji Akari to Matcha” (November 18), where you can enjoy matcha green tea and Japanese sweets while viewing the maple lights from a Japanese-style room, and the “Momiji Tea Party” (November 23), where you can easily enjoy an authentic tea ceremony while viewing the maple leaves at noon, will be held in the park. The “Momiji Tea Ceremony” (November 23), where visitors can enjoy an authentic tea ceremony while admiring the maple leaves at noon, is sure to provide a tasteful autumnal view.
In addition, the park has a field athletic “Children’s Forest,” based on the motif of “Treasure Island” in Stevenson’s maritime adventure story, as well as a children’s playground with a variety of equipment for toddlers, including compound playground equipment, swings, and jungle gyms.
