A mini-screening of works by Kobe-born film director Isao Konishi will be held on November 18 at the coffee shop “LEGATO” (5 Suzurandaihigashimachi, Kita-ku, Kobe City; TEL 078-591-0201 ) in Suzurandai, Kobe.
The films to be screened are “Tomorrow’s Forgetting” (running time 20 minutes), a short movie produced as part of a community cinema production workshop for beginner actors, and a local Miki City film about the Kobe Electric Railway Awo Line, planned and produced to revitalize the local line and promote Miki City’s attractions through film. The film was planned and produced in the hope of revitalizing local railways and promoting the attractions of Miki City through the film. ~The films were planned and produced in the hope of revitalizing local train lines and promoting Miki City’s attractions through film.
Each film will be followed by a talk session with director Konishi and Kobe-born actor Yuki Mizuno, who plays the role of hardware craftsman Yoshinori Shizome in the two films.
Mizuno said, “When we launched the “Kamitetsu” production project and crowdfunded the project, the master of Legato supported us and planned to hold a screening at his store. The screening was postponed indefinitely due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, but the project moved forward and became a reality when the master came to the screening of “Tomorrow’s Forgetting”. I hope that through the film, Miki and the Kobe Electric Railway Awao Line will be revitalized, even if only a little. I hope people will watch the film over a cup of delicious coffee.
Director Konishi said, “Tomorrow’s Forgetting” is the first film we made as part of our activities to make people’s lives worth living through filmmaking. I aimed to make a film that would warm people’s hearts while dealing with current themes. Kamitetsu” attempted to question what is important to you and how you can appreciate your daily life, while dealing with the issue of abandoned local train lines in an entertaining way. The film’s unveiling coincidentally took place at the Corona Disaster, and those who saw it may have felt its theme sink in more deeply. I would be happy if people feel free to attend the screening and talk with us about various topics,” he said.
