A “Gachinko Tag Game” will be held at the Ajisai Stadium in Kita-Kobe Rural Sports Park (Kita-ku, Kobe) on January 28 (cancelled in case of inclement weather, etc.).
This is an annual event held at the facility every winter, and is open to third- to sixth-grade elementary school students.
On the day of the event, the park is completely sealed off and elementary school students play tag with staff members dressed in suits and sunglasses playing the role of “ogres (hunters).
The children run as fast as they can around the large park, hide to avoid being caught, and exercise their physical strength and thinking skills.
Reservations are required in advance (first-come-first-served basis) and the participation fee is 2,500 yen per person (to be paid on the day).
(Applications will be closed when capacity is reached.) Additional applications are currently being accepted, so please check back if you are interested in participating.
<A word from the reporter>
A tag-team tournament in which participants block off a large area of the park and run away from hunters! Still, although hunters are cool, it can be scary when they come after you! I am the type of person who hides somewhere.
