Kusakabe Construction Co. has decided to locate on Port Island (Phase 2).
The company was the first in Japan to introduce the reclamation method using barges (earth movers), and has played a major role in Kobe City’s reclamation projects, including Port Island, Rokko Island, and Kobe Airport Island.
The company is currently working on the development of equipment aimed at preventing disasters and establishing safe and efficient construction methods in the field of marine engineering. The site is planned to be used as a research and development center for demonstration tests of the equipment under development in the Port of Kobe and for its use in construction sites.
The company has decided to move into Port Island (Phase 2) in recognition of its location on the waterfront and its proximity to the city center with excellent transportation access.
