In commemoration of the opening of the “Elmer’s Adventure” exhibition at the Akashi City Museum of Art, “Elmer’s Adventure Panel Exhibition” will be held at Children’s Book Forest Kobe (Chuo-ku, Kobe City) from April 2. The exhibition will run until April 14.
Published in the U.S. from 1948 to 1951, “Elmer’s Adventure” is a series of adventure stories about a nine-year-old boy, Elmer, who sets out on a journey to save Boris, a dragon cub. More than half a century after its publication, the series is still loved around the world.
Two types of panels, “Boris the Dragon” and “15 Dragons (Boris’s Family),” will be on display at the museum, and visitors will be able to take commemorative photos with them.
During the panel exhibition, each child who visits the museum will receive a coloring book of Elmer and Boris the Dragonfly. The coloring book can be picked up at the entrance.
Coloring events held in the past
For three days from April 9 to 11, visitors can enjoy coloring at the large table on the second floor of the museum all day long.

Elmer and Boris the dragon child are colorful, and it is nice to be able to take a picture with Boris as if you were Elmer, the main character of the book!
