On May 25, “Kobe School,” a live message concert based on the concept of “the gift of experience and words,” will be held at Stage Felissimo (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) and online. Shiho Nagamachi, a lighting designer who has worked on illumination and other nighttime landscapes, will be the guest speaker at Stage Felissimo (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) and online. Advance registration is required and the fee is 1,200 yen (500 yen for online delivery).
The “Kobe School” is a message live concert started in 1997 in the wake of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and this is the 321st time it has been held. Participation fees will be used to support orphans from the Great East Japan Earthquake and the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake through Ashinaga Scholarship Society.
Mr. Nagamachi, our guest this time, is designing “public lighting” to face and solve the issues faced by the city and its residents. In his message live, he will talk about his thoughts on creating a “town” together with many people under the theme of “Tourism Town Development with Akari: The Magic of Akari to Change a Town”. He will also talk about the “lights in the city of Kobe,” including the Kobe Port Tower, which reopened this April.
<A word from the reporter:
The event will be held this weekend, May 25! Don’t miss the thoughts and wonderful stories behind the “lights” that color the city of Kobe☆
