On July 13 and 14, the Hojo Railway, a local train line connecting Kasai City and Ono City, will hold the “24th Horseshoe Beetle Train”.
This event is popular among children and families every year. During the one-hour round trip between Hojo Station and Awai Station, the entire train with an original head mark will be transformed into a forest with beetles.
On board the train, visitors will be able to listen to a talk about beetles and see and touch them. In addition, participants will always receive a pair of beetles, one male and one female, so they are asked not to forget their insect cages on the day of the event. There will also be an original commemorative can badge as a gift, so this event is sure to be a hit with beetle and train lovers.
Departure times are at 10:06, 11:09, 13:09, and 14:09 on both days. The fare is 1,500 yen for both adults and children, and advance reservations are required. In addition, visitors who use the JR Kakogawa Line or Kobe Electric Railway to get to Hojocho Station will receive a free round-trip coupon for the Hojo Railway, making it easy for families to participate.
<A word from the reporter>
The train is like a forest, and that alone is very exciting! It is a perfect way for parents and children to create summer memories together. It is a popular project, so it would be better to make reservations early.
