On June 21, “Macaron Day” will be held at Pierre Hermé Paris (Chuo-ku, Kobe) in the Daimaru Kobe Store, where macarons will be distributed for free.
MACARON DAY” is an activity started by Pierre Hermé 19 years ago at his boutique to raise funds for children suffering from intractable diseases, and is held every year on the summer solstice in Japan.

In conjunction with Macaron Day, a special “gift box” is available from May 29 to July 2.
The “Iniciacion” contains an assortment of 20 specially selected macarons, including Pierre Hermé’s signature rose, lychee, and raspberry “Ispapan,” and a new flavor “Chadeau” with the exquisite harmony of green tea and yuzu.
Other items available include boxes of 12 and 18 macarons, and a set of 7 macarons (3,456 yen, tax included) from which customers can choose their favorites at the store.
Donations from the sales and donation boxes will be used to improve the medical care and welfare of children through the “National Network for Supporting Children with Intractable Diseases,” an authorized non-profit organization.
<The reason why the summer solstice, when the daylight hours are the longest of the year, is designated as Macaron Day is also meant to start off the summer season with a fun day. We are happy to think that we can help children with incurable diseases in this way.
