Long-established bakeries Donk and Donk Edité in Kobe will hold a “France Fair” from July 1 to 15, bringing the essence of France through bread.
Founded in 1905, Donk is a long-established bakery born in Kobe that consistently sticks to the scratch method, in which artisans prepare dough from flour and bake it. The fair is held every year during the “Paris Festival” on July 14, the anniversary of the French Revolution, in the hope that visitors can “feel the essence of France through bread.
During the period of the event, we recommend the “Croissant”, which has an elegant flavor with good heat penetration, with the aroma and flavor of fermentation, the “Quigni amann”, a local pastry from Bretagne, and the “Cannelet de Bordeaux”, a traditional pastry from Bordeaux, and other standard items.
In addition, a total of eight other limited-edition items will be available, including “Ratatouille with Colored Vegetables” inspired by French regional cuisine, “Brioche Citron” and “Brioche Filloute,” breads made with fruits that are also a staple in France.
