The second-ranked Kobe Harborland “Hirosaki Neputa” Departure has been held in Kobe since 2022, the third time this year, triggered by the launch of direct flights between Kobe and Aomori by Fuji Dream Airlines in March 2020. The event is intended to convey to Kobe citizens the attraction of the Hirosaki Neputa, which is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Japan, and to attract visitors to the Hirosaki Neputa Festival to be held in Hirosaki City in the first week of August. This year, for the first time, a “Neputa parade” was held, which many participants enjoyed.
