Book cafes and large bookstores will appear to make Suma even more comfortable and convenient!

Suma Patio” (Suma-ku, Kobe), a shopping center in front of the Naya subway station, is scheduled to undergo a series of renovations from summer 2024 to spring 2025. In addition, tenants on the first and second floors of the building that will house the Kita Suma branch office, which is scheduled to relocate and open on August 13, have been announced.

As part of the “Naya Revitalization Plan” of “Renovation Kobe,” a project to improve Kobe City’s urban brand and attract more people to the city, a project to renovate the “Suma Patio” shopping center in front of the Naya subway station and to improve the Kitasuma branch office building are underway.

Unomachi Coffee Shop, a book café from Okayama, opened its first store in Kobe. The store is popular for its beautiful looking cream sodas and parfaits, and visitors can spend a relaxing time with a book in their hands. In-store events are scheduled to be held about once a month, including picture book readings, health-related seminars, live performances by artists, and art exhibits.

In addition, Kikuya Bookstore, a large bookstore located on the second floor of Building 3, has relocated and opened. The new store will be 1.3 times larger than the previous one, and will carry more books. In particular, the volume of children’s books and comic books will increase by 2.3 times and 1.4 times, respectively, and the store will be closer to Meya Station, making it more convenient.

The “Kita Suma Branch Office Building,” which will be developed as a highly convenient administrative service base that is friendly to all, will open on August 13, with a new Oyako-Flat Plaza Naya and enhanced childcare support functions such as a spacious area for infant health checkups.

Four facilities that enrich people’s lives will open as tenants on the first and second floors, including a coffee specialty store “UCC Cafe Plaza,” a working space “Naya Green Lounge,” “UR Rental Shop Naya,” and a yoga and Pilates studio “treetree studio.

Suma Patio is scheduled to open first in December 2024, followed by the grand opening of the second and third buildings and the first floor of the health building in March 2025.
