A gorgeous performance to mark the end of the tour of the succession of the name of the actor! 50th Anniversary of Kobe Bunka Hall

On September 11, “Ichikawa Danjuro XIII Ichikawa Shirasaru Succession Tour” will be held at Kobe Bunka Hall in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the hall’s opening. Admission requires the purchase of a ticket in advance.

Ichikawa Danjuro” is the name of the great master Ichikawa Danjuro, who established the history of Kabuki as the center of Edo Kabuki and has continued for more than 300 years up to the present day. after the “Face Yose Teodate Ceremony” held on October 31, 2022 at the Kabukiza, Ichikawa Ebizo assumed the name of Ichikawa Danjuro XIII Hakusaru, reviving the great master Ichikawa Danjuro after a nine-year absence.

I. “Shuku Narita Yagura Nigiri”
The streets of Edo are bustling with festivals. Tobitogashira, geisha, and others come out to dance and celebrate. You can enjoy the festive mood of the dance to celebrate the announcement of the successor to the Ichikawa family name.

The actor in kamishimo costume offers words of congratulation. Ichikawa Danjuro Ichikawa XIII, Shirasaru, will give a speech to all the audience to announce his succession to the title of Ichikawa Danjuro XIII.

Three, “Tenkoromi Ueno Hatsuhana (The First Flower of Ueno) by Mokuami Kawatake
This is an act from Mokuami Kawatake’s masterpiece, “Tenkoromi Ueno Hatsuhana (The First Flower of Ueno)”. Danjuro plays the role of Muneyoshi Kawachiyama, a scoundrel with a big personality, sex appeal, and charm. The famous lines in the seven-five syllables typical of Mokuami are also worth listening to.
