Kobe City supports “Kobe Font ~ of art for people with disabilities.

1. What is Kobe Font?

　It is graphic data of letters and illustrations created jointly by designers/students and people with disabilities working at support offices for people with disabilities (hereinafter referred to as “offices”) in Kobe City.
The data is sold to companies and organizations using the local ^font*1 system. A portion of the fees earned from the use of the “Kobe Font” is returned to the business establishments as compensation, contributing to higher wages for persons with disabilities.
　Kobe City is working to promote social participation and employment support for people with disabilities with the aim of realizing a “Kobe where people with disabilities can play active roles.
*1…A social project to deliver artwork co-created by people with disabilities, designers, and offices supporting people with disabilities throughout Japan and around the world to the world. KobeFont is already registered.

2. Major efforts

[Kobe City]
(1) Cooperation in public relations
・Support for this project
・Dissemination through various educational opportunities to citizens and private companies, and provision of information to business offices supporting persons with disabilities

(2) City-related Utilization at events, etc.
・Exhibition of artworks during Disabled Persons Week (December 3-9) (Sanchika Ad Window, etc.)
・Creation and distribution of original goods at events related to understanding disabilities

Information dissemination by the City to local businesses has expanded the circle of utilization to private companies

Development of original products and package designs using Kobe Font motifs is in progress.
