The gourmet food complex “Kobe Kitano Nosta” (Chuo Ward, Kobe), which is being built on the site of the former Kitano Elementary School, is scheduled to open on November 8, and an outline of the stores that will be located there has been announced.
The concept of this facility is “ONE TABLE. In the international area including Kitano Ijinkan, the concept of “ONE TABLE.” is to regard the place where various things such as old and new and different cultures mix as one table, and to inherit the original values of Kobe and Kitano, while adding new values to them.
Seven new stores are scheduled to open in the building, which is a reused three-story school building, with the first and second floors specializing in Kobe’s “food” and featuring restaurants and stores that make use of local ingredients.
The gateway to Kobe Kitano Nosta will be NOSTA CAFE, a sweets café with an open-air terrace, offering seasonal sweets and food menu items from over 100 different recipes. The store will also have a live kitchen where visitors can watch demonstrations by patissiers and baristas, and a menu featuring Kobe ingredients and collaborations with various stores.
This will be the first time that world-renowned patissier Hiroki Tsuji󠄀guchi’s “Le Chocolat de Ashe” will make an appearance in the Kansai region. The store will open as a chocolaterie “LE CHOCOLAT DE H Kobe Kitano Nosta Store.
Chef Tsuji󠄀guchi, who pursues the possibilities of cacao, will roast cacao beans grown with great care on his own farm in Peru in his own laboratory to create his special chocolates, which can now be enjoyed in Kobe.
In addition, “Mariage de Farine,” a bakery by Tomohiko Nakanishi, the third place winner of the world bread competition, and “Kobe Kitano Roasting Station,” a sister store of “Shinsaibashi Roasting Station” by Japan’s top roaster and barista who won the first prize in roasting in Japan (JCRC2023 winner), will both open their first stores in Kobe.
In addition, a sake store “Nada Gogo SAKE VILLAGE” and an original sweets store are scheduled to open in January next year.

The spacious main dining room will have over 60 seats, and four private rooms and a semi-private room for groups will be available for a variety of occasions.
The third floor, which used to be a gymnasium, will be preserved in its original state and will be rented out as a rental space. It will be available for a wide range of uses, including events, training, and student experience.
