Lecture on Support for Children and Students Not Attending School

A lecture meeting on the theme of non-attendance was held at Wiz Akashi, a complex-type exchange base in the north building of Aspia Akashi, a commercial facility in front of Akashi Station. The lecture on support for truant children and students will be held on October 26, 2024. will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024!

Dr. Ota, a pediatrician and a specialist in children’s mental health and the director of the Nishinomiya City Children’s Future Center Clinic, will talk about the mind and development of children who are truant or have a tendency to be so, and how to support them. Dr. Ota will share his expertise and experience in the areas of “mother-child separation anxiety,” “developmental disorders,” and how to relate to “children with sensitive temperaments.

The number of truant children and students is increasing year by year and is said to be about 300,000 nationwide, making it one of the major issues for Japan as a whole. In addition to the lecture, there will be a program called “Listening to Children’s Voices,” which will include a discussion between Mr. Ota, the lecturer, and children who have been truants or have experienced truancy.

Not only parents but also elementary, junior high, and high school students are welcome to attend. It is on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you are interested, please register as soon as possible!
