The “MET Live Viewing 2024-2025” will be sequentially screened at 21 movie theaters nationwide, including kino cinéma Kobe International (Chuo-ku, Kobe City), starting November 8.
MET Live Viewing is the world’s most prestigious live viewing of New York’s Metropolitan Opera (commonly known as “MET”), which can be enjoyed on screen without leaving Japan. In addition to dynamic sound and a wide variety of camera work, the program includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the singers, which cannot be seen even in a live theater performance.
The new season of 2024-25 will include the dramatic love-hate drama “Tosca” set in Rome in 1800, Mozart’s 120% happiness masterpiece “The Marriage of Figaro,” and Verdi’s masterpiece “Aida,” the first new production of Verdi’s opera in 36 years. The “super-popular” operas will be performed in a large number!

In addition, “Grounded: The Pilot with Broken Wings,” an opera based on a play in which Anne Hathaway also starred, and “Fidelio,” Beethoven’s only opera that depicts the ultimate love between a married couple with moving music, will also make their first appearances at the Met.
Eight heart-stirring films have been selected for the festival. Each of the screening dates and times differs, so be sure to check them out in advance!
In addition, a “ticket stub entry campaign” will be held to select winners of the “MET Live Viewing 2024-25” season who have seen five performances of the season. The gold prize is a poster signed by the star singers of the 2024-25 season (3 winners), and the silver prize is a MET bookmarker (10 winners).
