A special exhibition, “Fashion Photographs Tell the Story of Mode: The Relationship between Photography and Dress,” will be held at the Kobe Fashion Museum (Higashinada-ku, Kobe) on Rokko Island from November 23 to January 26, 2025.
In the 20th century, photography took on the role of conveying fashion trends, and fashion photography evolved in its own unique way. From its dawn to its golden age, contemporary photographers have pursued a wide variety of beauty.
The exhibition features 200 works by about 70 photographers and 40 dresses from the collection of the Kobe Fashion Museum, and looks back on the history of fashion photography.

The museum is also concurrently holding the “Glass Prayer” exhibition, a project to support the reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in the 30th year after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
The Noto Peninsula Glass Art Museum in Ishikawa, which was severely damaged by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on January 1, 2024, and is still closed, will exhibit 36 precious glass works that withstood the earthquake and other items, and will also introduce its related costume collection.
