Paul Klee Exhibition: Constellations of Creation” will be held at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art (Chuo-ku, Kobe) from March 29 to May 25, 2025.
In this world, you will never be able to understand me. For I live not only with the dead, but also with the unborn.” These words of Paul Klee (1879-1940) were used in the sales strategy of the gallery that launched Klee’s work in 1920, promoting his image as a solitary meditating artist.
Confronting the fundamental tragedy of life, Klee evoked light through line and color, depicting the energy of life in abstraction.

With the academic cooperation of the Paul Klee Center in Switzerland, the exhibition will trace Klee’s lifelong creative trajectory by comparing his works with those of artists with whom he interacted and referencing valuable materials from the period to redefine Klee within a “constellation” of people and information.
