Annual winter preparation! Pissing Little Cloak Dressing Event” at Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden

On November 3, the Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden in Kobe’s Nada Ward will hold its annual “Pissing Little Cloak Dressing Event.

The “Pissing Boy” installed in the garden was created by sculptor Kenjiro Enomoto in 1962, using his son as a model. He first put on a cape so that he could stay warm in winter, and it has become an annual autumn event.

Every year, students from Kobe Design University create a flower-themed cloak for the little urinal boy to wear, and this year’s theme was “Chinguruma” (Japanese lilac). This year’s theme was “Chinguruma,” and as a result of a popularity contest held for the design drawings among park visitors, the costume chosen was unique and dainty looking. The flowers can be seen until November 24, the park’s opening period.

At the same time, the autumn leaves of the “Kochiwa Maple” and “Shiromoji” are at their best, and the person in charge says, “This is the 51st time for this annual event.
