On April 8 and 9, a two-day screening of a film documenting the construction of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge will be held at the “Hashi no Kagakukan” in Tarumi Ward, Kobe City. © General Kobe Tourism Bureau
This screening is held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Kobe-Awaji Naruto Expressway. The film to be screened was produced around 1998, when the bridge was constructed, and documents the construction of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, including field surveys, various experiments, and technological developments conducted at the bridge crossing points to overcome the natural conditions of the strait section bridge. A film documenting the construction process
This film is usually managed as a record of the bridge construction process and is only shown to the public during these two precious days. Visitors can learn how the bridge, which they drive across and view from below, was built. The film will be shown over two days, but it is possible to attend only one day. <A word from the reporter>
The presence of that bridge has become so significant that it is hard to imagine a time when there was no bridge, but there are not many opportunities to learn how bridges were created and how much hard work went into their construction. I would like to take this opportunity to learn about it!
