The “Electric Pole Art de Hitomachi Tsunagu Design Competition 2022 in Nankinmachi & Ototonaka-dori” is being held at Nankinmachi and Ototonaka-dori, popular spots in Motomachi, Kobe, until November 23.
Professional designers, students of Kyoto City University of Arts, and students of Kobe Design University (special participant) created pole art with the theme of “Minato Machi Kobe” and exhibited them in various places in the city.
This year marks the 38th time that the event, a design competition where visitors can casually enjoy art while walking around the city, has been held.
About 48 works, including 18 works by utility pole advertising designers, 20 works by students of Kyoto City University of Arts, and 10 works by students of Kobe Design University, will be exhibited at the venue. Details of each work and exhibition location are presented on the official website.
The “Telephone Pole Art Walk” is a participatory event in which 100 people who vote for their favorite artwork on the official website will be selected in a drawing to receive a gift certificate (worth 1,000 yen) that can be used at cooperating stores in Nankinmachi and Ototsu-naka-dori.
