On November 26, “Open Customs 2022,” an annual open-house event, will be held at Kobe Customs Building (Chuo Ward, Kobe City), a well-known filming location for movies and TV programs. Admission is free.
The Kobe Customs Office has been used as a location for many TV dramas and movies, including “Manpuku” and “A Man Called Pirate”. The old dignified space and the modern architecture are harmoniously matched.
On the day of the once-a-year special event, the rooftop overlooking the Port of Kobe will be open to the public, and programs such as a hall concert by a music band and a demonstration of drug-sniffing dogs are also scheduled. In addition to the popular “Nintama Rantaro” animation series, a creative children’s story “Kanashiki Fat Cat,” which has been animated by NHK, will also be on hand for commemorative photo opportunities.
In addition, this year’s special event commemorating the 150th anniversary of the customs will include a calligraphy performance by high school students.
When entering the venue on the day of the event, visitors will be asked to enter their name, contact information, and the number of visitors in order to prevent infection by the new coronavirus. <The
Kobe Customs House has an atmospheric appearance that attracts people just by looking at it from the outside.
I’ve always wanted to see the inside!
