SAKE Juku 2023, a seminar event to enjoy the charms of sake with a sommelier, will be held at Kobe Shu-shin-kan (Higashinada-ku, Kobe), the brewery of Fukuju. 15 sessions are scheduled from February to November, and you can participate in just one session. The event is currently accepting participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Since its establishment in 1751, Kobe Shu-shin-kan has won numerous awards at sake competitions held in Japan and abroad. In October 2022, the company released “Fukuju Junmai-shu Eco Zero,” the world’s first sake with zero carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions in the sake making process. The company’s efforts are also attracting widespread attention.
The event will be held at Sakabayashi, a restaurant in Kobe Shushinkan, with Masakazu Minatomoto, sommelier at Kobe Shushinkan, as the lecturer. There will be five themes: “SDGs and SAKE,” “Haraju and Nama-shu,” “Sake Chronicles Part V,” “Sake Tasting,” and “Dan-brewing,” with three sessions each on the same theme.
After Mr. Minatomoto’s talk, a tasting will be held and a menu will be served to go with the sake.
The museum comments, “These lectures are for people who want to enjoy sake in a delicious way. Please feel free to contact us for more information. <A word from the reporter:
Just by having a little knowledge of sake, you will be able to appreciate its taste more deeply…. It will be a meaningful time for you to relax and spend time with yourself.
