The event will feature a paid tasting corner with a selection of the brewery’s representative sake, “Kukura,” junmai daiginjo nama sake, and sake specially prepared for the event (limited to 300 cups), as well as food stalls selling such delicacies as fish paste tempura, grilled chicken, curry, and Nara zuke (pickled vegetables). Hamafukutsuru is located in Uosaki Township, a core sake brewing area called Kaminada, one of the “Nada Gogo,” which boasts the largest production of sake among all the sake breweries in Japan. The Hamafukutsuru Ginjo Kobo holds a morning market event called “Kura Marché” on the third Sunday of every month, where local producers and sellers gather to offer “seasonal tastes.
The person in charge of the event encourages visitors to “stop by and enjoy the once-a-year event ‘Kurabiraki’, limited sake sales, and a variety of fun events and food stalls. <A word from the reporter>
The best part of Kurabiraki is that you can try sake that you are usually curious about but can’t try easily on the spot.
I have a feeling you will find your favorite sake!
