Konan Women’s University (Higashinada-ku, Kobe) will hold an organ charity concert, “The Charm of the Large Organ, Its Variety of Tones and Body-Reaching Bass Tones! ~The concert will be held on June 13, 2012. Admission is free and advance registration is required (by June 5).
The pipe organ installed in the university’s Ashihara Auditorium will be used to perform classical, modern, and contemporary masterpieces, including J.S. Bach’s “Concerto in A minor by Vivaldi” and G. Morandi’s “Introduction, Theme and Variations, Finale, Op.11”.
Ms. Kaoru Dobashi, organist at Shimanouchi Church of Christ Church of Japan, will perform. After graduating from the piano and organ departments of Osaka College of Music, Ms. Dobashi completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. While in graduate school, she studied at the Westfalen State School of Church Music in West Germany, where she obtained the West German Church Musician A certificate (organ performance and vocal music).
He has performed in Germany and other parts of Europe, and in Japan he has appeared in concerts in Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, and other cities.
The pipe organ is one of the largest in western Japan, with 4,357 pipes, and was completely destroyed in the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, but was restored in 1998. It is cherished as a symbol of the university’s recovery from the earthquake.

A donation box will be set up at the venue on the day of the event, and all donations, excluding necessary expenses, will be donated to the Ashinaga Donation for Orphans of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
