Press Release (September 4, 2023)
International Sports Office, Culture and Sports Bureau
In preparation for the Kobe 2024 World Para Athletics Championships to be held in May 2024, we have established a new hands-on program, “Parareso.
Parareso” is a generic name for a program of learning that recognizes the differences of each individual by learning about the world of para-sports, and aims to realize a symbiotic society in which everyone can play an active role. Resonance is the phenomenon of creating deeper understanding by empathizing with the feelings and thoughts of others. The first step toward a symbiotic society is for each person’s individuality to resonate with each other, and it is with this in mind that “Parareso,” a cross between para-sports and resonance, was born.
The target audience for learning is “Children = for School” and “Adults = for Community,” and the “Paraleléso for School,” a hands-on class for children in city schools, will begin on September 8 (Fri.).
