Awajiya, a bento box lunch box company headquartered in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, will start selling a collaborative product with the Japan Coast Guard, “Umi no “Moshi wa 118 Hittaridako Meshi” (118 Hittaridako Rice),” on January 12, 2012.
This is the third collaboration for this product. The product was planned to spread awareness of the Japan Coast Guard’s emergency call number 118 and to increase understanding of the correct use of “118” among more people.
In this collaboration, the design of the hanging paper and the urn have been changed drastically from the one released in January 2023, and the design of the urn has been redesigned. The urn, which was designed to resemble a Japan Coast Guard vessel, has a special design depicting the agency’s “S” insignia. The paper is now specially designed to resemble a JCG vessel, depicting the agency’s “S” insignia, and the urn is decorated with a life raft and a familiar octopus wearing a JCG official’s hat.
Squid, which is abundant in the oceans under the jurisdiction of the Fifth Regional Security Headquarters in Kobe, is added to the filling to create a special cracker rice dish. It will be sold at Awajiya stores as well as at the Awajiya online store.
