Kobe City has been promoting the concept of “Food Metropolis Kobe” since 2015 in order for people to enjoy the appeal of food in Kobe, where urban areas and agricultural/fishing areas are in close proximity to each other. The market is a place where farmers, fishermen, and restaurants mainly in Kobe City gather to get a closer look at agriculture, fishery, and local production for local consumption, with an emphasis on handing products directly from the people who made them.
FARMSTAND, located in Kitano, is a permanent fixture at the farmers’ market, selling mainly seasonal agricultural products, marine products, and processed foods produced in Kobe. Even outside of farmers’ market days, you can purchase Kobe’s agricultural and fishery products, and enjoy lunch and drinks made with fresh Kobe vegetables.
