Press Release (June 20, 2024)
Crisis Management Office
The City of Kobe has installed and operated approximately 2,500 “Kobe City Camera Watch & Protect” security cameras directly operated by the City, mainly for the purpose of preventing and solving crimes targeting children and women, in areas such as elementary school corridors and major stations in the city.
In addition, the city plans to install approximately 2,500 more cameras over the next three years until FY2026, with approximately 500 new cameras to be installed in Higashinada and Chuo wards this fiscal year.
Based on the opinions received at the regional explanatory meetings held in both wards, we have decided on the candidate locations for installation, and are now soliciting opinions from the citizens of these wards.
