On July 20 and 21, “Noryo (Cool Evening)” will be held at “倚松庵” in Higashinada-ku, Kobe City. Admission is free.
The facility is known as the residence of Junichiro Tanizaki, a great writer associated with Kobe, and the setting of his novel “Hosoyuki” (Hoso-Snow). The facility is usually open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, but on the occasion of Junichiro Tanizaki’s birthday, an event called “Noryo Evening Coolness” will be held.
For two days only, the museum will be open longer than usual, and visitors will be able to see the garden lit up and the parlor decorated with soft indirect lighting, which cannot normally be seen. In addition to being a great place to spend a moment at dusk, the event is also popular for visitors to wear yukata (light cotton kimono) and take pictures with a tasteful atmosphere.
Visitors are also offered an original fan as a gift (while supplies last). The person in charge of the event says, “Please enjoy the elegant night view from inside the hermitage.

The place is full of elegance, so you will surely have a refreshing summer time! It will make for some great photo opportunities.
